Kebbi School: Till Today, Nobody in Nigeria Knows Who Ordered the Troops Out — Senator Abaribe

A DAILY POST publication dated Wednesday, November 26, 2035, reports that Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who represents the Aba South Senatorial District, has pressed President Bola Tinubu to demand accountability for the withdrawal of soldiers from a school in Kebbi just before a student abduction occurred.

The kidnapping happened at Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Danko/Wasagu LGA, where troops assigned to secure the school were reportedly withdrawn around 3:00 a.m.—moments before the assailants attacked.

This sequence of events has intensified concerns about a potential failure within Nigeria’s Safe School programme.

Retired security analyst Group Captain Sadeeq Shehu emphasized that the governor’s account, which links the troop removal to the timing of the attack, is a serious issue requiring in-depth investigation. He insisted that such claims cannot simply be brushed aside.

During Senate proceedings, Abaribe lamented that despite how serious the incident is, no official explanation has been offered and no one has been held responsible.

He called for an urgent and transparent probe into why the troops were withdrawn in order to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

According to him, “The governor of Kebbi said someone ordered the soldiers out, and people were kidnapped. Up till now, no Nigerian knows what truly happened. No questions have been raised, and we sit here in parliament discussing endlessly, while someone is clearly responsible.
