Iranian political analyst and Professor of English Literature and Orientalism, University of Tehran, Sayed Mohammed Marandi has issued a stark warning amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, declaring that Tehran would respond forcefully to any act of aggression.
In a statement posted on his verified X account, Marandi said Iran would “inflict maximum pain” on what he described as the “Epstein regime,” a phrase widely interpreted as a sharp criticism directed at U.S. leadership.
He stressed that Iran would not wait to be struck before responding and would not “pull any punches” if conflict erupts.
Marandi further asserted that in the event of confrontation, it would ultimately be U.S. President Donald Trump and his allies who would seek a ceasefire, not the Islamic Republic.
