A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Nwosu, has expressed outrage over what he described as dismissive treatment from the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking during an interview on African Independent Television, Nwosu alleged that the INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan, refused to engage with him on the grounds that he does not recognize the ADC.
He warned that public frustration is rising across the country, noting that many citizens are already agitated and that political actors are making efforts to maintain calm. Nwosu argued that such actions by electoral officials could further inflame tensions if not properly addressed.
According to him, “The red alert is everywhere. Red alert is on our street; the Nigerian citizens are vexed; they’re ready to attack almost everybody. We’re holding them back. So if I come here and I express this way because Amupitan cannot come to my office and he’s saying I cannot come to his office to talk to him because he doesn’t recognize ADC.
