If You Trust Claims Like Those From Fani-Kayode, You’re Likely To Believe Anything—Sowore Blasts FFK

In a strongly worded statement on X on Thursday, May 7, 2026, prominent activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has fiercely criticised former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, describing him as an “unstable character” unfit to serve as Nigeria’s ambassador to any nation.

The activist’s intervention highlights ongoing tensions surrounding the list of non-career ambassadors approved earlier this year. The sharp rebuke comes amid reports of a redeployment in Nigeria’s ambassadorial assignments. President Bola Tinubu had earlier approved Fani-Kayode as ambassador-designate to Germany. However, unconfirmed reports suggested the German government raised concerns over Fani-Kayode’s history of controversial statements on ethnic and religious matters, prompting a possible shift to South Africa.

Sowore dismissed any narrative portraying the move as routine or voluntary, insisting it exposed deeper issues with Fani-Kayode’s suitability. He argued that entrusting sensitive international roles to individuals with a track record of inflammatory rhetoric risks damaging Nigeria’s global standing…..See More
