Amina’s son, Auwal, was arrested for allegedly conspiring with five other people to lure his seven years old cousin, Rukkaya Muhammad into the bush where they forcefully plucked out the little girl’s eyes for suspected ritual purposes
Speaking about the heartbreaking incident in an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Amina said she wished she were dead rather than live to witness such a sad day. She stated that she never wanted to see anything that would bring pain to her brother, Muhammed Adamu the father of Rukkaya
