As reported by Daily Post, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky stated that his previous alert to United States President Donald Trump regarding the risk of a global war was not given the seriousness it warranted. During a televised discussion on Wednesday, Zelensky noted that his worries about rising global tensions involving Russia and Iran were mostly ignored during their conversations.
Zelensky remembered informing Trump that if the situation remained unaddressed, it could lead to a larger global conflict. He expressed that the increasing collaboration between Russia and Iran could lead to a risky geopolitical scenario that might involve many countries in a more extensive war. “I warned that we might face World War III. The President (Trump) didn’t truly understand my message… along with his team,” Zelensky remarked, suggesting he felt the U.S. leadership did not grasp the full significance of his caution.
The Ukrainian president also highlighted his apprehensions about Russia’s expanding support for Iran amidst the current conflict in the Middle East. He indicated that Moscow is supplying Tehran with military resources such as weaponry, drones, and missile technology. Furthermore, he asserted that Russia is aiding Iran in enhancing its air defense system, which could considerably boost Tehran’s stance in the ongoing war.
Zelensky cautioned that the next stage of the conflict might see troop deployments. He referenced reports indicating that around 10,000 North Korean soldiers are currently in Russia. While they are now positioned within Russian borders, Zelensky hinted that they could eventually be sent to other areas of conflict, including Ukraine.
He also pointed out that a similar situation might arise in Iran if Russia opts to send troops directly to support its ally. The Ukrainian president remarked that several countries in the Middle East have largely remained neutral regarding the Ukrainian war because of their historical economic relationships with Moscow. Nevertheless, he indicated that the rising violence in the area might alter their viewpoints.
Meanwhile, reports from Western media claim that Russia is sharing drone warfare techniques developed during the conflict in Ukraine with Iran, potentially enhancing Tehran’s capability to attack U.S. and Gulf interests.
