Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has shared his perspectives regarding the ongoing trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Recently, Omoyele Sowore led Nigerians in a solidarity walk demanding the unconditional release of the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who has remained in the custody of the Department of State Service DSS in the last ten years.
However, in the video, the human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, cited the need for the Nigerian government to address serious issues in the country rather than wasting time on an unproductive trial.
He expressed surprise for a country to waste ten years prosecuting an individual whose only crime is having a radio transmitter and a microphone.
According to the video, “I have never heard before that a country will waste ten years prosecuting someone whose only weapon is a radio transmitter and a microphone.”
