Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has opened up about a painful experience that led her to publicly confront a former pastor, alleging abuse involving her younger sister and other teenage girls.
Speaking during an emotional interview With Chude, Olayode recounted how years of personal trauma shaped her strong reaction when she discovered the situation. According to her, she felt compelled to act immediately after noticing troubling patterns that reminded her of past abuse and manipulation.
She explained that the decision to speak out was not easy, especially because of her background in the church and the weight of exposing a spiritual leader. However, she said her protective instincts took over when the issue involved vulnerable young girls.
“I called out my former pastor because he was secretly abusing my younger sister and other teenage girls,” she said, adding that the situation extended beyond just one victim. She noted that the alleged misconduct affected multiple teenagers, which strengthened her resolve to intervene despite the potential backlash.
Olayode also revealed that she initially tried to handle the matter privately, hoping the pastor would repent after being confronted. According to her, she offered grace at first, believing change was possible. However, she claimed that the alleged behavior continued, making it necessary for her to go public.
The actress further disclosed that the emotional burden of the experience took a toll on her mental health. She described feeling overwhelmed, depressed, and struggling with fear and anxiety during that period. Despite this, she maintained that speaking out was necessary to prevent further harm.
She emphasized that her decision was driven by a desire to protect others, noting that while she sometimes found it difficult to fight for herself, she felt stronger when defending someone else.
