According to a report by Vanguard Newspapers on Monday, October 27, 2025, Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, has shared his views on marriage and family life, expressing sympathy for men who choose to have only one wife.
According to him, polygamy provides men with greater stability and emotional balance in marriage, as it allows them to maintain a broader sense of responsibility and companionship.
Speaking during a television interview, the senator noted that his personal experience as a polygamous man has brought him peace and order in his household.
He explained that the structure of his family is built on understanding and respect, where every member knows their role.
Nwoko stated that contrary to public opinion, polygamy, when properly managed, can create a healthy environment that promotes love, unity, and discipline among wives and children.
Addressing the public discussion surrounding his marriage to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, Nwoko dismissed allegations suggesting he had been violent or abusive.
He described the claims as false and unfounded, saying that he has always treated his wives and children with love and respect.
The senator emphasized that he maintains a peaceful home and ensures that harmony exists among members of his family.
Nwoko further explained that people often misunderstand his family structure because of stereotypes and misconceptions about polygamy.
He pointed out that many men face unnecessary marital pressures due to the demands of monogamous relationships, adding that polygamy, when entered into with maturity and fairness, can help prevent such challenges.
He said, “I am not a violent person. I respect my wives and love them and my kids.”
The senator, known for his outspoken views on social and political matters, maintained that family life should be built on mutual respect, communication, and responsibility.
He said he remains committed to being a supportive husband and father, and believes that his approach to family life reflects his values of fairness and understanding.
