ADC Chieftain, Dele Momodu, has reacted to a media chat by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, alleging that former Rivers State Governor and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, exploited members of the G5 governors’ group for personal political advantage.
Momodu made the remarks in a post shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 while reacting to a video clip of Governor Makinde’s interview with Channels Television.
“This interesting moment was foretold by a few of us… It was obvious that NYESOM WIKE was just using members of the G5 (five Governors of Abia, Benue, Enugu, Oyo & Rivers) for his selfish end,” Momodu wrote.
He alleged that Wike benefited disproportionately from the political arrangement, while other members suffered setbacks. “WIKE systematically wasted the future of three members, while Makinde escaped because of his good work in Oyo State. WIKE was the sole beneficiary of the largesse thrown at them,” he stated.
Momodu further referenced the electoral losses suffered by some former governors after leaving office. “Three of them that contested Senatorial elections all lost, pronto. How are the mighty fallen!” he wrote.
He added that some of the affected former governors later received appointments that did not reflect their previous political standing. “A few have now been compensated with Ambassadorial assignments, far beneath their erstwhile status; former GOVERNORs for crying out loud… Allahu akbar!!” Momodu added.
The Instagram post accompanied a video of Governor Makinde’s media chat, in which the Oyo State governor spoke about his political differences with Wike and his refusal to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
