A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State and Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Chief Felix Obuah, has opened up on the benevolence of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, revealing how the former Governor gifted him landed properties in the nation’s capital.
Speaking during a thanksgiving reception held in honor of the Minister, Obuah, popularly known as “Go Round,” told his supporters that Wike is a leader who never forgets those who stood by him.
Narrating the gesture, Obuah disclosed that shortly after Wike settled down as Minister, he reached out to his loyalists and ensured they were “empowered” to function effectively in Abuja.
“Some people are saying Wike is wicked, but I am a living testimony of his goodness,” Obuah reportedly stated. “When he became Minister, he did not forget us. He called me and gave me papers for land in Abuja. He said, ‘Go Round, take this, build something for yourself.’ That is the kind of leader we are following.”
Obuah used the opportunity to throw a subtle jab at Governor Siminalayi Fubara and others who have fallen out with the Minister. He argued that if they had remained loyal, they would have also benefited from the Minister’s national influence.
“Wike rewards loyalty. He does not eat alone,” Obuah added. “Those who are fighting him today are the ones losing. As for me and my people, we will stand with Wike until the end because he knows how to take care of his people.”
This revelation has sparked reactions on social media, with supporters praising Wike’s generosity, while critics argue that it highlights the “patronage politics” often associated with land administration in the FCT.
