Hamas Kill Wife, Children Of Gazan Suspected Of Arming PA-linked Group

According to a report by The Times of Israel, Hamas killed the wife and two children of a man suspected of establishing armed groups in Gaza affiliated with the Palestinian Authority.

The man, whose name has not been released, is described as a former Palestinian Authority General Intelligence officer prior to Hamas violently seizing control of the Strip in 2007. The fate of the man himself is unknown.

Reports indicate that Hamas members fired an RPG missile at the family home in the Shejaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. The attack reportedly killed the man’s wife, Olfat Abu Ajwa, and his children, Zaid Abu Ajwa and Youssef Abu Ajwa, both of whom appear to have been minors.

According to outlets, the killings took place on Tuesday. In recent days, Hamas has reportedly executed dozens of Palestinians suspected of opposing its rule.

Local media say these actions have taken place as Hamas sought to reassert control over areas of the Strip from which Israeli soldiers withdrew late last week.

The Shejaiya neighborhood was identified as the site of the attack. Reports note that the missile struck the family home directly, resulting in the deaths of the wife and children.

No information was provided regarding the condition or whereabouts of the man suspected of establishing PA-linked armed groups.

Outlets in Gaza say that the recent killings are part of a wider series of actions targeting Palestinians believed to be affiliated with rival factions.

The incident was reported by multiple Gazan media sources. The timing of the attack coincided with other operations carried out by Hamas in various areas of the Strip.
