Hamas: It’s Israel That Must Be Disarmed Of It’s Nuclear, Chemical And Biological Weapons Used In Gaza

According to a report by Sky News, on October 11, 2025, a senior Hamas official has deflected questions about the group’s disarmament by demanding Israel first surrender its advanced weapons arsenal, while outlining conditions for the militant organization’s role in post-war Gaza.

Dr. Basem Naim, in an exclusive interview with Sky News’ Yalda Hakim, redirected disarmament discussions toward Israel when pressed on Hamas laying down its weapons.

“If this question has to be directed, it has to be directed to the aggressor, who must be disarmed of his nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, which have already been used in the Gaza Strip and other areas during this war,” Dr. Naim asserted.

The comments came as Israel and Hamas implemented a ceasefire agreement on Friday, following the first phase of a peace deal brokered by President Donald Trump.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved the plan, marking a significant de-escalation after months of intense conflict.

Dr. Naim credited President Trump as essential to achieving the ceasefire, acknowledging that the agreement would have been impossible without his involvement.

However, he stressed that continued American pressure on Israel remains critical to ensure adherence to the deal’s terms.

Regarding Gaza’s future governance, the Hamas official indicated the group’s willingness to step aside for a Palestinian administrative body to govern the territory.

Yet this concession came with significant caveats: Hamas would maintain its physical presence “on the ground” and categorically refuses disarmament.

Dr. Naim also issued a pointed warning about international participation in Gaza’s reconstruction, explicitly stating that former British Prime Minister Sir Tony Blair would not be welcome in any post-war administrative capacity for the territory.

The Hamas official’s accusations regarding Israel’s weapons use represent a serious escalation in rhetoric, though these claims remain unverified.

His linkage of Hamas disarmament to Israel’s military capabilities suggests that weapons negotiations will prove extraordinarily complex. See, More, Here>>>>
