Senator Olaka Nwogu has spoken about the political crisis in Rivers State involving Governor Siminalayi Fubara and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike
In an interview with Channels Television, Nwogu said during the period of the state of emergency, when Governor Fubara was suspended from office, the governor went to a church to speak to his supporters. He stated that Governor Fubara told them that his spirit had already left Government House at that time.
Nwogu said that Governor Fubara told his supporters that they did not fully understand how much Nyesom Wike, whom he referred to as his political boss, had done for him. Nwogu stated that the governor’s words suggested that he was trying to work toward a peace agreement to resolve the crisis.
Nwogu said that after the emergency rule was lifted and Governor Fubara was reinstated, his actions have gone against the peace deals he previously agreed to
In Nwogu’s words: “Recall that he went to his people in church and told them that his spirit had left government house at that time, and he told them that they don’t even know what his Oga had done for him, which was the FCT minister. And he said a few things which alluded to the fact that he was working out something. In fact he was almost aggressive to his people that there was nothing like Sim Movement and they should stop”
