In a recent video shared on TV Platinum, John Ogah, a resident of the Pegi Community in Abuja, openly expressed his strong commitment to the ongoing local government election, declaring his family’s collective support for his preferred candidate.
Speaking during the voting process, he confidently stated, “Seven of my children in this community are going to vote for the person I will vote for.” His remark underscored the influence he holds within his household and highlighted the importance he places on political participation at the grassroots level.
Ogah explained that he deliberately closed his shop for the day to focus on casting his vote, noting that civic responsibility should take priority during elections. He said he was not tired of standing at the polling unit, emphasizing that if he had been tired, he would have stayed at home instead of coming out to participate in the process.
The video also captured the generally calm atmosphere at the polling units in Pegi Community, with security personnel stationed around to ensure orderliness. Voters were seen queueing peacefully as electoral officials carried out their duties.
While some residents mentioned minor challenges, such as difficulties locating their names on voter lists, many described the exercise as smooth and well organized. Ogah encouraged other eligible voters who were yet to come out to do so, stressing that participation in local government elections is crucial for choosing leaders who will represent the community effectively.
The election process in the area appeared largely peaceful, with residents demonstrating enthusiasm and determination to exercise their civic rights… Discover More News
