Former presidential aide and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Lauretta Onochie, has reacted to a dramatic scene at the National Assembly after several members of the House of Representatives staged a walkout during plenary in Abuja on Tuesday.
The incident, which occurred during the sitting of Tuesday, February 17, 2026, surprised many observers as lawmakers were seen chanting slogans and exiting the chamber in protest. Videos of the disruption quickly circulated on social media, generating widespread public debate.
Onochie, who served as an aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, shared footage of the incident on her official X account, where she offered insight into the lawmakers’ actions. She suggested that the protest was directed against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
