According to a report by Punch News, Princess Esom Nwafor Orizu, popularly known as Adakaibeya and a declared aspirant for the Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency seat, has reportedly gone into hiding following allegations of fraud involving a fellow indigene from Nnewi.
The Nnewi princess, who hails from Ndiakwu Otolo, is accused of defrauding a businessman and kinsman of about N500 million through an alleged fraudulent land transaction. Sources familiar with the matter said the dispute centers on land reportedly sold to the victim under circumstances now being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The anti-graft agency has taken steps to track the suspect and has allegedly frozen her bank accounts to prevent further transactions while investigations continue. Princess Esom had recently announced her intention to contest the federal constituency election and was actively mobilizing support before the controversy erupted.
