Donald Trump: We May Not Have Their Weapons Or Money But We Have God – Femi Fani Kayode

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has delivered a blistering admonition to any foreign power contemplating military action on Nigerian soil, following a highly charged statement attributed to U.S. President Donald Trump.

The president’s reported instruction that his War Department prepare for possible intervention framed by his claim that Nigeria is allowing a “genocide of Christians” to occur provoked immediate and fierce backlash. Fani-Kayode emerged among the most outspoken critics, denouncing the rhetoric as both provocative and hypocritical and urging Nigerians to stand firm against what he described as foreign intimidation.

Taking to social media, Fani-Kayode condemned the double standards he believes are at play when Western leaders cite humanitarian concerns as a pretext for meddling in sovereign affairs. He stressed that Nigerians are neither weak nor inclined to abandon their homeland in the face of external threats.

In his public remarks he warned bluntly that such threats would not cow the populace: “They are evil, and if he carries out his abominable threat, there will be war. We shall not leave the country but will fight it out with them.” For Fani-Kayode, characterizing Nigeria as a theater for sectarian violence in order to justify foreign intervention is dangerous and self-serving.

Beyond political defiance, Fani-Kayode framed the confrontation in spiritual terms, asserting that Nigeria need not match any foreign arsenal in material terms because, in his words, “we have God.” He declared that President Trump “will not survive the wrath of the God of Nigeria” and predicted that any attempt to act on such threats would ultimately fail. That line fused nationalistic defiance with religious conviction, conveying both a refusal to be intimidated and a belief in divine protection.
