According to a report by Daily Post, on Friday February 20, 2026, ahead of Saturday’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council election, former Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has identified bad leadership under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s biggest challenge.
Adebayo said that mismanagement has grown under the Tinubu administration over the past two years and explained that poor governance has affected public services, with hospitals neglected and foreign contractors taking resources without benefiting local communities.
He stated that the government should exist to serve the people, according to Adebayo, citizens must remain vigilant to protect their votes and demand transparency in all elections.
He stressed the importance of measures such as electronic transmission of election results to ensure fair and credible outcomes.
The former presidential candidate warned that years of mismanagement have led to the misuse of national resources, although he noted that the intelligence and voice of Nigerians remain strong and suggested that addressing bad leadership is crucial to improving public services and ensuring that government policies benefit the population.
He stated that the upcoming FCT election will be closely watched for how residents respond to issues of accountability and governance, noting that citizens are increasingly concerned about how government resources are used and whether public services meet community needs.
Adebayo focused his campaign on good governance, transparency, and equitable distribution of resources, urging voters to consider the quality of leadership when casting their votes.
