Salamatu Yahaya, a survivor of the deadly attack on Woro community in Kwara State, has narrated the horrifying ordeal that befell her village, describing killings, abductions and the lingering discovery of corpses days after the massacre. Yahaya spoke about the aftermath alongside a separate male resident who also witnessed the attack and gave his own account of the events.

Speaking during an interview with , Yahaya recounted how the assailants stormed the community in what she described as a sudden and brutal invasion. According to her, the attackers struck in the morning, catching many residents unaware and leaving devastation in their wake.

“It was in the morning that they came to the village. They killed alot of people and till date, we still find corpse around in the village,” Yahaya said, emphasizing that the community is still uncovering bodies days after the assault. Her statement reflects the scale of the tragedy and the trauma survivors continue to endure.

In the same interview, a different male resident who witnessed the attack provided further details, particularly about the abductions and the length of the operation. “They kidnapped our parents, our friends and our siblings. They started operating from 4:00p.m till 4a.m,” he said, suggesting that the attackers remained active in the area for nearly twelve hours.
