Bishop Matthew Kukah has stated that religious extremists like Boko Haram are using Islam as a cover to carry out evil acts, even though their actions go against its true teachings
In an interview with Signature TV, Bishop Kukah said as a Christian, he is happy that no Christian has physically attacked anyone while claiming to do so in the name of Jesus. He said it is sad that some religious extremists now commit terrible crimes, such as raping women and killing worshippers
In Kukah’s words: “I’m a Christian and I am proud of the fact that no Christian has ever raised a stick against anybody and said, ‘In the name of Jesus, I am breaking your head’. Now women are being raped in the mosque, people are being slaughtered in the mosque.
