Ben Gvir Says He Gave PM Deadline To Dismantle Hamas, Enact Death Penalty For Terrorists

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has issued an ultimatum to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: dismantle Hamas and implement the death penalty for terrorists, or risk losing the support of Ben Gvir’s far-right Otzma Yehudit party in the governing coalition.

According to Times of Israel, Ben Gvir claimed Netanyahu had made him clear promises on these issues. “Netanyahu promised me this for two years.

Every time I asked, he told me we have hostages and will deal with it after their release.

Now there are no excuses,” he said.

Although Ben Gvir confirmed giving the prime minister a deadline, he refused to reveal the specific date.

He emphasized that introducing the death penalty for terrorists was part of Otzma Yehudit’s coalition agreement and claimed such a policy would deter future kidnappings and violence.

“If Hamas is not dismantled, the prime minister knows what will happen,” Ben Gvir warned, hinting his party could once again leave the coalition.

Earlier this year, Otzma Yehudit temporarily exited the government in protest of a partial deal with Hamas.

Addressing rising crime in Arab communities, Ben Gvir defended his record despite a spike in violent deaths.

He claimed most killings were internal disputes among “crime families,” minimizing the broader implications of the violence.

Ben Gvir’s hardline stance comes amid ongoing pressure on the Israeli government to recover hostages and increase pressure on Hamas.

His demands raise further questions about the stability of Netanyahu’s coalition and the future of the conflict in Gaza.

His remarks are likely to heighten tensions both within the government and with international observers concerned about Israel’s internal and external policies. See, More, Here>>>>
