A senior Iranian security official has issued a sharp warning to U.S. President Donald Trump as tensions continue to escalate in the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and a former speaker of parliament, delivered the warning in a post on his verified X account while responding to Trump’s recent threats against Tehran.
Larijani’s remarks came after Trump warned that Washington would retaliate with overwhelming force if Iran attempts to disrupt global oil shipments through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Responding directly to the U.S. president, Larijani rejected the threats and insisted that Iran would not be intimidated.
“The Ashura-loving nation of Iran does not fear your paper threats. Even those greater than you could not eliminate the Iranian nation. Watch out for yourself—lest you be eliminated!” he wrote.
Trump had earlier vowed that the United States would strike Iran “twenty times harder” if Tehran interferes with shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow but crucial maritime corridor through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes.
The exchange highlights the deepening war rhetoric following coordinated U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran in late February, which dramatically intensified tensions across the Middle East.
