Bayo Onanuga Reacts As It Was Announced That Food Prices Have Dropped Ahead Of Christmas Celebrations

Bayo Onanuga, the senior special adviser on Information and Strategy recently reacted after it was announced that food prices across the nation have dropped ahead of the Christmas celebrations. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he shared the new prices of some food commodities.

The news regarding the drop in prices of certain food commodities across the country ahead of the yuletide season generated massive reactions from different quarters after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.

Prices of food commodities like rice, yam and garri dropped drastically, according to the reports which were shared by Leadership and made available to the general public by Bayo Onanuga, the senior special adviser on Information and Strategy.

According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle on Saturday December 6th 2025, Bayo Onanuga shared the new prices of the food items.

Rice, previously sold at N75,000 for 50kg dropped impressively to N60,000 while a gallon of garri which was sold at N7,600 dropped to N5,000.

Similarly, a tuber of yam which was sold at N2,500 significantly dropped to N1,900, same as a bag of beans which dropped to N30,000 from N34,000 per 50kg bag.

The survey was carried out at the World Bank market in Owerri, the Imo State capital and Asaba market in Delta State according to Bayo Onanuga.

The drop in prices, which was viewed as a welcome development, indicated that many will celebrate the Christmas season amid smiles.
