Maryam Sulaiman, a victim of a terrorist attack in Katsina State, has recounted the desperate moments she tried to hide her son when armed men invaded her community.
Speaking during an interview on News Central TV, on Thursday, 9 July, 2026, Sulaiman narrated how her son rushed to her in fear after encountering the gunmen. According to her, she immediately tried to find a place to hide him, hoping to shield him from the attackers who had already spread through the area.
Recounting the encounter, she said, “They met my boy and he ran to me and said I should help him hide. I was trying to help him hide and they came inside the house, they were all wearing black. I was helping him to climb up and they said I should leave him alone and I said I won’t leave him alone and they said I have to leave him alone.”
Sulaiman said the armed men stormed into the house while she was assisting her son, creating a terrifying scene that left the family helpless.
