Security intelligence expert Yahuza Getso has disclosed alarming information regarding the support systems sustaining bandits, Boko Haram, and ISWAP in Nigeria’s North-West and North-Central regions.
In an interview on News Central TV, Getso claimed he has substantial evidence pinpointing those supplying fuel to these groups.
“I have made mention several times that I know and I have evidence on who is supplying them with fuel and I know they are cut across in all the states of Sokoto, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger,” he said, emphasizing the extensive reach of the fuel supply network enabling criminal and terrorist operations.
Getso explained that access to fuel significantly enhances the mobility of these armed groups, allowing them to carry out kidnappings, attacks, and other violent acts across state borders. He stressed that tackling these supply channels is critical to weakening the operational capabilities of both bandits and insurgents.
He further noted that complicity or negligence within local communities and institutions contributes to the persistence of these networks. “Without decisive action to target these enablers, military and police operations will continue to be reactive rather than preventive,” Getso warned, highlighting the importance of proactive measures.
