Atiku’s Aide Reacts To Bayo Onanuga’s Comment After Peter Obi Said He Will Welcome Trump’s Invasion

Paul Ibe, the media adviser to former Nigerian Vice President Alhaji Waziri Atiku Abubakar, responded on his official X account on December 26, 2025, to comments made by Bayo Onanuga. This follows remarks from former Anambra state governor, Peter Obi, who expressed his willingness to accept Donald Trump’s intervention in Nigeria after a US military strike on terrorists in Sokoto state.

Ibe’s reaction came after Onanuga confirmed that the Nigerian government was aware of the military actions against terrorists in the North. Onanuga stated that the cooperation with the US would be a joint operation, clarifying that it is not aimed at any particular religion.

In his response, Ibe accused Onanuga of hypocrisy, suggesting that he is part of a government that he himself criticized. Ibe added on his X account: “It’s not your fault that you serve in a hypocritical government as its chief propagandist. Don’t worry, Peter Obi has said he has forgiven you for your wrongful accusations against him.”
