Remi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, made this remark while addressing dignitaries at the National Traditional and Religious Leaders Summit on Health 2026, in a video posted by TVC.
During her opening greetings at the event, she acknowledged the presence of several prominent traditional rulers and religious leaders from across the country.
She explained that she chose to generalize her salutations rather than mention individual titles one after another, noting that doing so could lead to omissions and possible trouble.
According to her, “Your Imperial Majesties, Your Royal Majesties, Your Highnesses, I salute you with the two people I’ve mentioned today because Oba Ikorodu is here, Ogiame is here, and I’ll run into trouble. All my ‘Obi’s’ too are here. You know I’m also the Ugosimba 1 of Enugu State; I’ll get into trouble, so I greet all of you. Thank you so much. All our religious leaders as well, but I’ll greet you through the CAN president, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel C. Okoh.”
She further extended her greetings to religious leaders in attendance, stating that she would acknowledge them through the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Archbishop Daniel C. Okoh…. Discover More
