Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has reiterated Tehran’s long-standing position that the United States has failed to exert dominance over Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, framing current tensions as part of a broader and enduring U.S. strategy rather than the policy of any single administration.

In a statement posted on his verified social media account, Khamenei said that from the outset of the Islamic Revolution to the present day, the United States has been unable to impose its will on Iran.

He argued that Washington’s objective has consistently been to bring Iran under military, political, and economic control, adding that this approach transcends changes in U.S. leadership. According to Khamenei, American pressure on Iran is rooted in a general policy that has remained unchanged across successive presidencies.

The remarks come amid heightened friction between Tehran and Washington, marked by disputes over sanctions, Iran’s nuclear programme, and regional security dynamics in the Middle East.
