The Withdrawal Of These Cases Prove They Were Maliciously Instigated By Those Misusing Power—Natasha

In a recent interview on SYMFONI TV, Senator Natasha Akpoti has reacted to the withdrawal of two federal government cases filed against her, describing the development as a vindication and proof that the charges were politically motivated.

Speaking shortly after the cases were discontinued, Akpoti said the experience had tested her faith in Nigeria’s justice system but reaffirmed her belief that truth ultimately prevails. She thanked supporters across the country, particularly those in Kogi State and Kogi Central, for standing by her throughout the ordeal.

“The withdrawal of these two cases prove they were maliciously instigated by those misusing power, to their advantage in which hunting an innocent person which is myself” she said, adding that the actions were driven by individuals who sought to weaponize state institutions against her for personal advantage.

Akpoti expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that he was briefed on the matter and acted in the interest of justice by ordering the discontinuation of the cases. She also acknowledged the emotional and professional toll the legal battles had taken on her, noting that she had never previously faced criminal allegations or been invited by law enforcement for wrongdoing.

She described herself as a law-abiding citizen with no history of financial impropriety, drug-related offences or criminal investigations, and said the simultaneous filing of two federal cases against her was deeply distressing.

“Whatever doesn’t break you makes you stronger,” Akpoti said, adding that although the experience had toughened her, it was not something she would wish on anyone.

She further clarified that the withdrawn cases were not among those referenced in court by the lieutenant president, and that as of the time of her statement, no instructions had been given to discontinue other pending suits filed by him and his wife.
