Omoyele Sowore has ridiculed former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, while discussing justice, accountability, and the Nnamdi Kanu case with reporters. Sowore pointed to Malami’s current issues as an example of the irony surrounding power and its repercussions.
In a video shared by TV Platinum, he reminded the public that during Malami’s tenure, he was arrested and imprisoned under accusations of attempting to overthrow the government. Sowore indicated that those claims were heavily promoted to legitimize his detention and portray him as an adversary of the state. He suggested that this experience illustrates how governmental power can be wielded to silence dissenters instead of confronting genuine issues.
Sowore further ridiculed Malami by highlighting that, despite being accused of conspiring against the government, Malami is now being investigated by the EFCC for alleged financial misconduct.
He remarked, “When he detained me, he went on BBC claiming, ‘Sowore was trying to overthrow the government,’ but now you have overthrown the Naira.”
