Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed Israel’s ambassadors in Jerusalem, stressing that in a rapidly shifting global environment, one guiding principle remains constant: Israel must project strength.
As reported by The Times of Israel on December 7, 2025, he argued that nations form alliances with the strong and pursue peace with those who demonstrate power. According to him, Israel’s ability to showcase strength is the driving force behind countries choosing to normalize ties and sign agreements with it.
Netanyahu asserted that Israel is now more powerful than at any point in its history—qualifying as a regional superpower and, in several key areas, a global force. “Israel is stronger than ever,” he said. “It is a superpower regionally, and in some sectors, a world power.”
He noted that since the October 7, 2023 attacks, Israel has expanded its military and economic capabilities, which in turn has bolstered its diplomatic leverage internationally.
The Prime Minister also outlined the major decisions he took immediately after the attack: declaring war, activating all reservists, and deliberately avoiding a preemptive strike on Hezbollah in Lebanon. He explained that he held back because both Hamas and Hezbollah were at their highest operational strength at that moment.
Speaking on military readiness, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel fields a remarkably large army relative to its population size.
He laid out his strategic order for the ongoing conflict: first neutralize Hamas, then move against Hezbollah, address other Iranian-backed groups afterward, and eventually confront Iran itself.
