In a recent Facebook video, Primate Elijah Ayodele issued a strong warning to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), cautioning the party against making what he described as a politically unwise move.
The cleric claimed that the ADC is currently lacking clear direction and may be considering a strategy that could ultimately jeopardize its electoral prospects.
According to him, the party’s contemplation of reaching out to former President Goodluck Jonathan for support or possible alignment is misguided and would not yield the outcome the party expects.
Speaking with his characteristic firmness, Primate Ayodele stated that “ADC they are confused they want to go and beg Jonathan, if you go to Jonathan you will lose I won’t say more than that it’s not the best Jonathan cannot face Tinubu you will lose.”
His remarks suggest that involving Jonathan in any political arrangement against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be ineffective, as he believes the former president does not possess the political strength or current influence to challenge the incumbent leader.
The cleric’s message appeared to be both a prophecy and a piece of political advice, reflecting his frequent involvement in national discourse.
He emphasized that the ADC should rethink its strategic options instead of banking on alliances that may weaken rather than strengthen its chances.
His comments have since sparked reactions among political observers analyzing the implications of aligning with former national leaders in the evolving political environment.
