“Akpabio Make Us To Approve Special Supplementary Budget For President Tinubu” -Adams Oshiomhole

According to a report by Viable TV, on Wednesday November 27, 2025, Senator Adams Oshiomhole (APC, Edo North) has strongly defended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, affirming that the President is making a sincere effort to address the nation’s challenges, particularly in security.

Speaking during a plenary session, the former Edo State Governor passionately argued that the lack of immediate results does not equate to negligence or a lack of interest on the part of the President.

Senator Oshiomhole’s comments served as a robust defense of the President’s commitment to improving the country’s security architecture.

“Mr. President (Senator Akpabio) I am not ashamed to affirm that president Bola Tinubu is doing his best,” Oshiomhole stated unequivocally. “Correct, he’s doing his best. That we have not yet there doesn’t mean that he had done anything knowingly whether by negligence or lack of interest.”

The Senator highlighted the legislative branch’s efforts, prompted by the executive, to ensure the nation’s armed forces are adequately funded and equipped.

He pointed out the consistent approval of budgets specifically aimed at enhancing military capabilities.

“Under your leadership Mr. President (Senator Akpabio), you have encouraged us to approve not once not twice special supplementary budget to support our armed forces arising from the request of President Bola Tinubu,” Oshiomhole noted, emphasizing the seriousness of these requests.

He clarified the purpose of the significant financial allocations, dismissing any trivialization of the military’s needs.

“Those requests were not meant for the armed forces to buy ice cream. It wasn’t meant to for them to do Tobola in military nightclubs. They are meant to stretch the armed forces to reequip them to give the masses to acquire their technology and to train,” he stressed.

Furthermore, Oshiomhole referenced the administration’s recent directives to boost personnel numbers, adding: “And even now directive to recruit more men and women into the armed forces.”
