DSS Officails Circled Round Kanu To Take The Microphone From Him After An Altercation With The Judge

According to TVC, Tension escalated inside the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday as operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) moved swiftly to surround the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, following a heated exchange between him and the presiding judge, Justice Emeka Omotosho. The confrontation erupted when Kanu challenged the judge over procedural rights, insisting that he could not be compelled to waive his right to deliver a final address. His sharp tone and assertive rejection created visible discomfort in the courtroom, prompting security officials to spring into action.

According to eyewitnesses, Kanu, who had been given a microphone to address the court, continued speaking even as the judge attempted to restore order. His voice grew firmer, accusing the court of violating due process and demanding that the judge show the legal basis for his directive. The judge appeared visibly irritated, and the courtroom momentarily descended into confusion as lawyers, journalists, and observers watched the confrontation unfold.

It was at this point that DSS officials moved in. In a coordinated approach, several operatives encircled Kanu, positioning themselves closely behind and beside him. Their intention was clear—to restrict his movement and retrieve the microphone in order to silence the exchange and re-establish control of the proceedings.

 

Kanu resisted initially, holding onto the microphone while insisting on his right to be heard. His legal team pleaded with the security officials not to manhandle him, arguing that he was simply defending his constitutional rights.
