Because He Was Told To Stop Building, Zubairu Gambo Sent His Armed Men – Lere Olayinka

Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike has disclosed the reasons behind the confrontation between some armed military officers and officials of the FCTA in Abuja. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the former Chief of Naval Staff, Zubairu Gambo sent his men to storm the venue because he was told to stop building.

The news regarding the confrontation between armed soldiers and officials of the Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) in Abuja on Tuesday November 11th, 2025 generated mixed reactions after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.

In a twist of events, workers on site at an ongoing building project belonging to the former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Zubairu Gambo were told to stop work, prompting the former military chief to seek assistance from armed soldiers.

Reacting, Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike in a recent statement which was shared on his official X handle, disclosed the reasons behind the controversial confrontation.

According to his explanations, he pointed out that because the former military chief was told to stop erecting a building on a site not approved by the FCTA, he sent his armed men to attack their officials.

The confrontation, which had sparked massive public debate, occurred at a time when the country was expected to answer series of questions regarding security matters.
