They Say ‘Israel Is Innocent,’ How So? No One Will Swallow This. Certainly, Turkey Will Not”Erdogan

According to a report by Andalou English, on Friday October 31, 2025, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday accused Israel of searching for pretexts to break the ceasefire agreement and continue its military operations in Gaza, while the Palestinian group Hamas demonstrates commitment to upholding the truce.

Speaking at the TRT World Forum in Istanbul, Erdogan questioned Israel’s credibility regarding international agreements.

“Everyone knows Israel’s terrible record when it comes to keeping its promises,” the Turkish leader stated.

The president emphasized that ensuring the ceasefire’s durability, facilitating humanitarian assistance to Gaza, and initiating the reconstruction phase would require international pressure on Israel.

He highlighted the extensive destruction across the Palestinian territory, noting that educational institutions, religious sites, and medical facilities have been targeted.

Erdogan challenged narratives that portray Israel favorably, stating the country possesses nuclear capabilities and maintains the capacity to strike Gaza at will. He argued that such military superiority contradicts claims of innocence.

The Turkish president described hunger as a weapon being deployed in Gaza, particularly affecting children. “We saw those children reduced to skin and bone, being disciplined by starvation,” Erdogan remarked during his address.

He also addressed the casualties among journalists covering the conflict, stating that Israel’s information operations have been countered by reporters who paid the ultimate price.

“Against Israel’s propaganda machine built on lies, 270 journalists exposing Tel Aviv’s false propaganda, showing truth on the ground were killed,” he said.

These journalists not only lost their lives but also their family members, including children, spouses, and parents.

Erdogan criticized international organizations tasked with maintaining global peace for their failure to prevent what he described as massacres and genocide.

He noted that UN General Assembly resolutions, despite receiving overwhelming support, often fail to be implemented due to Security Council dynamics.

The president declared that Türkiye remains prepared to support Gaza’s recovery and pursue legal avenues, including proceedings at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, to ensure accountability for the conflict.
