Security Reshuffle: I’m Sure We Have Just Seen the Beginning of Many Other Things to Come—Ataguba

Former Chief of Standards and Evaluation of the Nigerian Army, Major General James Ataguba (rtd), has shared his thoughts on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent security reshuffle, saying that what Nigerians have seen so far is only the beginning of more major changes to come.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Major General Ataguba reacted to the replacement of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, with Major General Olufemi Oluyede, describing the move as the start of a broader reform within the nation’s security system.

According to him, President Tinubu’s decision signifies a new direction in the country’s approach to security management, and more sectors within the defense and intelligence architecture may soon experience similar shake-ups.

In his words, Ataguba said:

“I’m sure we have not seen the end of it. Other parts of the security architecture are likely going to be affected as well, not just the military. You have the intelligence community and the rest. I’m pretty sure we have just seen the beginning of so many other things to come.
