Protest: Buhari Borrowed Money To Build Railways, None Crosses S.E; Yet We’re Repaying The Loan -Dan Iwuanyanwu

The National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Dan Iwuanyanwu, has revealed what fueled the rebirth of the Biafra agitation.

In an interview with Channels Television, Iwuanyanwu stated that under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, the South-East region was neglected.

He explained that as a result of this, Nnamdi Kanu rose up and said that since the Nigerian government under Buhari’s administration did not want to prioritize the development of the South-East like other regions, they should be allowed to go their separate way.

However, he praised President Tinubu’s administration, saying it has been making efforts to develop the South-East and that Tinubu is not responsible for the current problems.

“What brought about IPOB is that you have a region that has been crying over marginalization. It worsened during the time of President Buhari. President Tinubu has tried to do one or two things, put some infrastructure and move some funds to the South-East. You say you don’t want them. You say you don’t like me. You say you don’t want me. Okay, let me go home. You said I will not go,” Iwuanyanwu stated.

He further revealed that during Buhari’s administration, the government borrowed money to build a railway line from Nigeria to another country, yet the South-East did not receive any share of such development. Instead, they were taxed to repay loans for infrastructure projects that did not benefit them.

“There is no federal presence in the South-East. The little we have now is under Tinubu. No good roads, no infrastructure. President Buhari borrowed money to build railways to another country, but none passed through the South-East. Yet, we are repaying the loans. And you call that justice? They have the right to protest. You can’t beat and flog a child and still stop the child from crying,” he said. See, More, Here>>>>
