According to a report by The Times of Israel, on Monday October 20, 2025, this evening at 8:00 p.m., the military wing of Hamas would surrender the body of a hostage to Israel, according to the announcement.
The terrorist organisation issued a vague statement saying the body was “found yesterday,” but it did not elaborate on the hostage’s identify or the circumstances of the finding. In a previous statement on Sunday, Hamas stated that it would surrender a hostage’s body “if conditions on the ground allowed.”
This declaration follows that remark. Nevertheless, at that time, no transfer to Israel actually occurred. The handover of the body is scheduled to take place this evening, according to the most recent announcement from Hamas.
The place and method of the handover were not specified by the group. Although Hamas claimed responsibility for finding the body during their operations in Gaza, they have been tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
Hamas has alluded to preparations to return a hostage’s body to Israel twice in the past few days, the second time being in Sunday’s message. The prior transfer was deemed unsuccessful due to what the company termed “conditions on the ground,” but no other details were offered.
No visual or written proof of the recovery was included in Monday’s statement by Hamas, and it was unclear whether the body belonged to one of the hostages still listed as missing or thought dead. In light of Hamas’s most recent announcement about the transfer, the Israel Defence Forces have remained silent.
Amidst continuing rumours of communication between mediators and the group over the fate of the remaining hostages, Hamas said that the body would be turned over at 8:00 p.m. But so far, information regarding cooperation and verification has been scant. See, More, Here>>>>
