Video Of Those Threatening To Kill Christians Is Condemnable, They Should Be Arrested, Brought To Justice— Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has condemned a viral video showing individuals allegedly threatening to kill Christians, calling for their arrest and prosecution.

Sani, in a statement reacting to the footage, said those involved in the threats should be apprehended and brought to justice, warning that people advocating violence and bloodshed should not be allowed to threaten the peace of the country.

“The viral video of those threatening to kill Christians is condemnable. Those involved should be apprehended and brought to justice,” he stated.

The former lawmaker stressed that individuals expressing a desire to harm others on religious grounds should face the consequences of their actions, irrespective of their affiliations.

“Those with thirst for violence and human blood should have no space in our country,” Sani added.

He also clarified that the statements and conduct of the individuals in the video should not be interpreted as the official position of the JIBWIS First Aid Group, which he said was established to pursue humanitarian and peaceful objectives.

According to him, the group’s founding mission is inconsistent with the alleged threats contained in the viral footage.

“Their dangerous utterances and conduct don’t represent the official views of JIBWIS First Aid Group that has been founded for humanitarian and peaceful mission,” he said.

Sani’s reaction comes amid concerns over religiously motivated threats and the potential consequences of inflammatory rhetoric for peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.

His call for the arrest and prosecution of those involved underscores the need for security agencies to investigate the footage, establish the identities and actions of the individuals concerned, and ensure that anyone found to have committed an offence is held accountable under the law.
