Speaking during an interview on TVC News Nigeria, Political Analyst Saheed Ajadi discussed the political record and leadership capacity of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, questioning what he believed Obi was able to demonstrate during his time in public office and expressing doubts about his suitability to govern Nigeria.
Ajadi referred to Obi’s tenure as Governor of Anambra State, arguing that his record should be considered when assessing his capacity for national leadership, while stating that he believed the former governor had not demonstrated enough to convince him that he could successfully manage the affairs of a country as complex as Nigeria and stressing the importance of consistency in leadership.
In Ajadi’s words: “Peter Obi served for eight years. What did he have to show in an empire? I’ve always said this. It’s a waste of time. Peter Obi cannot govern or rule Nigeria because you are not stable. You are not consistent. And you say words from two sides of your mouth all the time. I’m not going to use the word because we’re on air.”
