Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the NDC for the 2027 election, has called for respect and understanding in public conversations involving religious leaders and national issues while urging Nigerians to embrace constructive dialogue and avoid reactions that could deepen divisions across the country.
In a post shared on his X handle, Obi reflected on a past moment involving a respected religious leader and noted that public discussions about national matters should remain civil and guided by lessons from history while encouraging Nigerians to approach such issues with maturity and understanding.
Obi said the example showed that sincere observations made by respected figures should be considered with openness rather than hostility because such contributions can encourage reflection and support efforts aimed at promoting justice, national unity, peaceful coexistence, and responsible leadership for the benefit of all Nigerians.
