According to a report by Al Jazeera, the Palestinian group Hamas has issued a statement mourning the death of Major-General Muhammad al-Ghamari, praising his steadfast support for Gaza and describing him as a symbol of loyalty and sacrifice in the face of Israel’s military campaign.
In its message, Hamas declared that “history will proudly remember” al-Ghamari and all those who stood by the Palestinian people during what it called Israel’s “war of extermination.” The group emphasized that his death represented a loss not only for Yemen but for all who support the struggle of the Palestinian people.
“Al-Ghamari was a loyal leader who stood with Gaza and its people, sacrificing his life for the sake of God in the fields of honour and dignity,” Hamas said. The statement highlighted his commitment to Gaza’s resistance and portrayed him as a courageous figure who remained firm in his principles until his death.
Hamas also expressed its condolences to the Yemeni leadership and the Houthi movement, formally known as Ansar Allah, recognizing their solidarity with Gaza during the conflict. “We offer our sincere condolences and sympathy to the leadership of the Republic of Yemen, to our brothers in Ansar Allah, and to the sons and relatives of the martyr,” the group added.
Houthi-affiliated media outlets confirmed that al-Ghamari was killed in an Israeli airstrike. The attack reportedly targeted senior Houthi officials accused of supporting Hamas through intelligence and regional coordination.
Al-Ghamari’s death underscores the growing regional dimension of the Gaza conflict, as groups allied with Iran — including the Houthis in Yemen — continue to express political and military solidarity with Hamas. Analysts view his killing as part of Israel’s broader effort to weaken regional networks aligned against it.
