According to a Facebook post on 23rd July 2026, the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC) has declared one of its personnel, Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu, wanted.
He is accused of illegally selling and supplying military uniforms to terrorists and other criminal elements.
The Corps said preliminary investigations showed that the soldier was serving at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory before he absconded from his unit on June 3, 2026. Military authorities subsequently declared him wanted. He is expected to face a full investigation and disciplinary action in line with military laws.
The NAOC reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy on misconduct and indiscipline. It said it would not tolerate any act capable of undermining the operational effectiveness, integrity or reputation of the Nigerian Army.
The Corps also warned against the unauthorised sale, diversion or distribution of military uniforms, accoutrements and other controlled items. It said any personnel found aiding terrorists or other criminal elements through such acts would be investigated. Those found culpable would face the full weight of military and civil laws.
The Corps appealed to members of the public to support the ongoing investigation. It urged anyone with credible information about the whereabouts of the wanted soldier to report to the nearest military formation or any security agency.
The Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps also reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and the protection of military assets. It said internal control measures would continue to be strengthened.
