Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, alleged that Peter Obi lost the support of many former associates, claiming that several people who once worked closely with the former Anambra State governor eventually distanced themselves from him.
According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Echoo Room on Friday, July 17, 2026, while discussing Nigeria’s political landscape and opposition figures, Bwala made the remarks during an interview focused on leadership, governance, and the 2023 presidential election.
During the conversation, Bwala argued that Obi’s leadership style discouraged long-term loyalty among those who previously worked with him. He claimed that many former supporters and associates no longer maintained close political or personal relationships with the former governor.
