Peter Obi: 80% Of Those With Him In 2023 Have Abandoned Him Because He Is Not A Man-Manager—Bwala

Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, alleged that Peter Obi lost the support of many former associates, claiming that several people who once worked closely with the former Anambra State governor eventually distanced themselves from him.

According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Echoo Room on Friday, July 17, 2026, while discussing Nigeria’s political landscape and opposition figures, Bwala made the remarks during an interview focused on leadership, governance, and the 2023 presidential election.

During the conversation, Bwala argued that Obi’s leadership style discouraged long-term loyalty among those who previously worked with him. He claimed that many former supporters and associates no longer maintained close political or personal relationships with the former governor.

During the interview, he stated, “in 2023, I knew people who were with him, but 80% of them have now abandoned him because he is not a man-manager. There was not a single aide or commissioner who worked with him that remained with him two months after he left office.”

Bwala did not provide evidence during the interview to support the figures or assertions he made. The comments represented his personal assessment of Obi’s leadership style and political relationships, which have been subjects of public debate.

In his concluding remarks, Bwala maintained that his criticism reflected his personal observations about Obi’s political career, while the interview continued with discussions on other national political issues and differing viewpoints surrounding Nigeria’s evolving political environment…See_More
