My Brother Is A Politician, I Am A Social Critic So We Have Blocked Each Other And Don’t Talk–Fayose

Isaac Fayose has said Nigeria’s democracy has been reduced to what he calls “government of court, by court, for court,” claiming the judiciary now determines election outcomes rather than voters. Speaking on Arise News, he predicted that President Tinubu would not secure 17 percent of votes in a genuinely free and fair election, and confirmed he would personally vote for Peter Obi if elections were held today.

He also addressed his strained relationship with his elder brother, former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, saying they have not spoken much recently due to political disagreements, though he still holds him in high regard as a brother.

In Isaac Fayose’s words: “My brother, there’s no opposition today because the government of the day, they’ve successfully put opposition in a state of coma. So you cannot blame opposition, it’s the government of the day. Look at what is happening to ADC, look at what is happening to LNDC, look at what is happening to Labour. Those are government magic.”

On the judiciary, he said: “There’s nothing like INEC in Nigeria. What we have now is government of court, by court, for court. In the last 12 years, all the presidents, they’ve been to court. So it’s judiciary that now give us president, say produce, without… okay, you are the winner, you are not the winner. We are no more practicing democracy. Even the one trillion we are giving INEC, that one is just a buju buju. We are going to end up in court. It’s the judiciary that determines who rules and who doesn’t rule our country. We have lost it completely. There’s nothing like democracy. What we are looking forward to have in January is coronation.”

On his brother, he added: “My brother is a politician, I’m not a politician, I’m more of a social commentator and a social critic. He himself, we have blocked each other, you know, so we don’t really talk. I love him, I miss him, he’s a good brother, however, when it comes to matters of Nigeria, I mean, they should leave Nigeria alone, they are choking us too much.”

On the election, he said: “If election, free and fair election today, President Tinubu won’t get 17% of total vote cast. I’ll vote for Peter Obi. That is why they are doing everything not to have other parties on the ballot. That is why they want to do coronation, they want to continue in labour core. If they are sure of themselves, they should come out with their finger in PDP, come out with their finger in NDC, remove your finger in ADC, they will flog them before 12:00 noon. Nigerians will vote out President Tinubu. So come January, it’s only the people that can deliver themselves, nobody else…See_More
