According to a report by Al Jazeera, on October 14, 2025, Palestinian detainee Shadi Abu Seed has shared a chilling testimony of the brutal treatment he endured during his two years of captivity in an Israeli prison, following his release as part of a recent ceasefire agreement.
Abu Seed described a harrowing experience marked by relentless abuse, starvation, and psychological torment.
“I went hungry for the past two years. I swear to God, they didn’t feed us. They kept us naked. They beat us while we were naked day and night. We were tortured,” Abu Seed recounted.
His testimony detailed a continuous cycle of physical and emotional torture inflicted by Israeli prison authorities: “Until our last day in Israeli prison, they cut us and hit us and abused us. We endured every kind of torture, emotional and physical.”
The former prisoner also revealed the psychological warfare used against detainees, saying they were deprived of sleep and faced threats involving their families.
“We couldn’t even sleep. They threatened us with our children.
They told me they killed my children. They told us that Gaza was destroyed. I arrived here and found that everything was gone. It looked like the end of the world. Everything is different.”
Abu Seed’s testimony joins a growing number of accounts from Palestinian detainees describing severe mistreatment, including beatings, denial of basic needs, and psychological abuse, which human rights groups and independent observers have condemned.
These reports bring to light the difficult conditions faced by prisoners amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian factions. See, More, Here>>>>
