It Will Be Biggest Betrayal In Political History Of The World For North Not To Support Tinubu-Jibrin

Former member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin has said northern political support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should remain firm, arguing that abandoning the president after the backing he received from the late former President Muhammadu Buhari would amount to a historic political betrayal.

Jibrin made the statement during an interview on TVC News while discussing political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections and the relationship between Buhari’s political base in the North and Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking during the interview, Jibrin said, “We have always been one. I don’t think we want to talk about Buhari. Even the entirety of the north that followed Buhari for years, it will be the biggest betrayal in the political history of the world not to support Tinubu.”

The former lawmaker maintained that Tinubu played a major role in Buhari’s emergence and electoral victories, particularly during the formation and consolidation of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to him, political loyalty and respect for alliances should guide the decisions of northern political actors as conversations about the next election cycle continue to gather momentum.
