Political analyst and Rivers State stakeholder Maoboye Nangi has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of misleading his supporters by entering multiple agreements with his political mentor Nyesom Wike without informing them and said the governor’s withdrawal from the race was the result of those deals coming to light.

He dismissed the governor’s recent stakeholders meeting as emotional manipulation, stating that Fubara prioritized his own interests over those of his supporters. Nangi said Rivers people should not support a leader who makes secret deals, mobilizes people to the streets, and then returns to those same agreements.
In his words, “I think there’s nothing like pressure here. There’s no pressure. The governor has never been very truthful to people in the state.”
